Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital (KMCTH) is a medical
school located in Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal.
Established in 1997, Kathmandu medical college is a private medical college in Nepal. The
Kathmandu medical college is permanently affiliated to Kathmandu University and fully
recognized by the Medical Council of Nepal, Sri Lankan Medical Council, General Medical
Council (UK), and Medical Council of India. Kathmandu Medical College has also been listed
in the WHO's World Directory of Medical Schools electronic format as of June 2002.
Following full recognition by NMC, Kathmandu medical college is also
listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). Kathmandu medical college is
an Associate Member of the Network Towards Unity for Health (TUFH) that has its headquarters
at Glen in Belgium
Kathmandu Medical College functions from two complexes - Duwakot Basic
Sciences and Sinamangal Clinical Sciences. The Kathmandu medical college Teaching Hospital,

Prof. Dr. Chanda Karki, a renowned Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the
country, former Departmental Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the Kathmandu Medical
College, and the past President of Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist, is the
Principal of Kathmandu medical college. Dr. Mukund Raj Joshi is the Director of the
Kathmandu medical college Teaching Hospital. Several of our teaching staff have had
considerable teaching experience in Medical Colleges in India and abroad including Kathmandu
medical college.
