It is a public university located in Ulyanovsk, Russia over the Volga river. It is about 440 miles from Moscow. This university is one of the largest research universities in Russia with about 16000 students with 68 majors and 6 colleges. The Ulyanovsk University was the first ever to join the Bologna Process. It took steps to reform and improve its educational standards. It was established in 1988 with the motto “Classical choice”. The university has an experienced staff of 1238, out of which the majority are doctorate holders and others have different science degrees. The university provides opportunities for full-time, part-time, external, and also distance learning courses. Students get to learn from each other since Ulyanovsk University has a global network of students coming from all 7 continents. Students also get an opportunity to receive a combined degree in business and law. The MBA degree is well known which has an emphasis on international business and finance. The University has been engaged in the “Hospice and palliative care” with the support of the “Health prom” for a long time now. The university is working effectively for improving health care in the Ulyanovsk region and the country. The University has ties with many universities abroad like Wesleyan College (Macon, Georgia), Shenandoah University (Winchester, Virginia), University of Osnabruck (Osnabruck, Germany), Jaro institute of management and research (India), Hunan Normal University(China) and Duisburg Essen University (Duisburg, Germany).
