About Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore
Yenepoya Medical College was established in the year 1999 and
affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore for award of degrees. A
batch of 100 MBBS students was admitted in the year 1999. Subsequently in year 2005, after
obtaining permission from Medical Council of India postgraduate courses in seven departments
were started. Presently the Yenepoya Medical College is conducting Post graduate Courses
(MD/MS) in 23 departments and Superspeciality Courses (M.Ch./DM) in 03 departments.
Yenepoya Medical College was declared a constituent College of Yenepoya
(Deemed to be University) (Recognised under section 3(A) of the UGC Act 1956 as per
notification number F 9-11/2007 U-3 dated 27-02-2007) in the year 2009. In the year 2011,
the Medical Council of India permitted the College to admit 150 students in MBBS Course with
effect from Academic Year 2011-12. In 2023, National Medical Commission permitted the
college to admit 250 students in MBBS Course with effect from Academic Year 2023-24.

The documents required for admission to Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore:-
For the MBBS, MD / MS, and M. Ch. courses, the NEET examination is necessary as per the
guidelines of the Medical College of India. You can apply for the BHA, BPH, and B.Sc courses
without having given the NEET exam before. The other courses require MBBS as eligibility
criteria, which can be achieved only after giving the NEET Exam.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam is an offline test multiple choice
question paper that lasts 3 hours. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It has
3 sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotech. For every correct answer, 4 marks are
given and for every wrong, 1 mark is cut.
